However, within the expanded field of Latin American conceptual art, such a title is fraught with irony. La Ley, a project initiated in the late 1990s by a collective of Santiago-based artists and musicians, deliberately weaponized the aesthetics of the "hit single" to critique neoliberal cultural policies. Their Grandes Éxitos (FLAC Edition, 2023) is not a surrender to popularity but a forensic archive of it.
